The National Curriculum - A Guide for Parents:
The Curriculum
We are very proud and excited about our curriculum planning. In 2020 teaching staff completely replanned the curriculum using Cornerstones. A returm to teaching foundation subjects using a thematic and more cross-curricular approach was welcomed by all staff and they worked together to develop the new curriculum. Cornerstones also offers teachers support in planning and assessment. Our strong Christian values and ethos are clear and prominent.
Curriculum Statement
With God’s Blessing, we DISCOVER, INSPIRE, GROW.
As a Church School, our curriculum reflects the Christian values and ethos that are evident in our school. It is our intention to provide a curriculum that inspires pupils to develop their curiosity, knowledge and skills in order to become independent, confident and motivated learners. Our children will understand what it means to be a successful, well-rounded citizen who will enhance God's world as they take their unique paths through life. Please contact the school office for further infomration about the curriculum we are following.
Curriculum Drivers and Christian Values
At Walsham le Willows CEVC Primary, the curriculum is designed with the needs of our learners and community, our school vision and Christian values at its core. Each half term, teachers plan and deliver a thematic approach to learning within a framework of 6 curriculum drivers. We have chosen these drivers, or ‘big ideas’, as the foundation for our enriched curriculum offer and to shape the direction, development and experience of all areas of school life for our children.
